Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu has been accused of unleashing media attacks on the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Nkeiru Onyejeocha for speaking out against the poor leadership of the state governor.
The governor is said to have brought “tales of woes ,agony ,starvation and every thing anti-progress in the state since he came on board as governor”
Abia Government on Monday through its commissioner, Mr John Okiyi had described Onyejeocha as a failed politician, saying she failed to represent her Isuikwato/Umunneochi Federal constituency effectively in the House of Representatives.
The President, Concerned Abians for Good Governance (CAGG) Chief Sunday Iheke raised the concerns in a statement he issued on Tuesday.
Iheke revealed that already Ikpeazu’s commissioner for information have spent about 5 years as a commissioner for information chuninng out deceitful piece to hoodwink the gullible.
He said the commissioner writes deceitful articles creating pictures of fake structures and infrastructures built by Ikpeazu government
He also said that it is even more disturbing that the commissioner despite being owed many months of salary arrears still have the conscience to tell Abians that Ikpeazu is paying minimum wage since January.
The Group accused the state government of intentionally avoiding the important concerns raised by Onyejeocha to the detriment of Abians only to cast aspersions on her person.
According to the group, Onyejeocha’s concerns are same with that of entire Abians . “We are tired of lazy and visionless governance. Your conscience is completely dead. Why do evil continue to wax strong in any society? Negligence is one of the greatest reasons why evil continue unabated in our society today.
“Few months ago, 5660 unemployed Abia state indigenes were duped in their own state with the full knowledge of the state’s government or a tacit support by their government. These people employed by the government with employment letters. They were posted to various schools in the state.They worked for over 1 year without salaries. After about 2 years, the government disengaged them citing employment without waiver.
“These unemployed applicants allegedly paid hugely to secure this job. After spending hugely, they worked for over 1 year without pay. The Ikpeazu government heartlessly disengaged these guys without a dime giving to them. The government knew that after so much noise from the public that the case will just die as the custom in Abia state. Ikpeazu must be made to understand in its clear term that he is our servant and must at every point in time account for his stewardship. The worst thing that has ever happened to Abia State since 1999 is the election of Okezie Ikpeazu as governor of Abia state.
“It is very clear that Abia State is too big for Ikpeazu to handle.Okezie Ikpeazu is not capable of being a governor of any state in 21 ist century .He lacks idea even the bad ones. Ikpeazu has virtually destroyed all the institutions in the state.Every part of the state is bleeding . If not the primary school teachers protesting, it would be their secondary school colleagues .If not Pensioners,it would be HMB,if not Local government workers it would be those in the ministry .If not Abia Poly staff,it would be ASCETA staffs.
“Abia state is no longer at the verge of collapse,Abia state has totally collapsed because of Ikpeazu. Abia state is the most indebted state in the entire SE region but nothing to show for the billions owed . As a leader,what exactly will Ikpeazu beat his chest and say he solved in Abia as a challenge?” The Group queried
