The Leadership of Abia Democratic Coalition, the umbrella Organisation of all other Associations with affiliate bodies numbering over twenty has dissociated themselves from a Purported Rally to be held on Wednesday the 19th of February 2020 in Umuahia.
The Group in Statement on Monday Jointly Signed by Gabriel Akwara its President and Kenneth Eluwa its Secretary called on all its members to mobilize and wait for further instructions.
The Group accused the Sponsors of not equitably sharing the N12.8 Million paid for the Protest.
“The Leadership of the above Association which is the Umbrella Organisation of all other Associations with our affiliate bodies numbering over twenty hereby dissociates ourselves from the planned demonstrations and protests for Wednesday 19th February, 2020 by 10:00an across Abia State especially in Umuahia the State Capital ”
“All our Members should demobilize and await further instructions as the initial disbursement of funds has been hijacked without protecting our interests as the largest mobilized groups”
“We therefore insist that the initial amount N12.8Million only paid by the Sponsors should be declared and equitably shared among all the parent Associations” the Group Stated
