Senator representing Orlu Senatorial Zone and former governor of Imo State, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha and Senator Ifeanyi Ararume have forged a new alliance to advance their political interests.
Aba City Blog reports that the alliance was formed at a meeting held on Thursday at Urashi Resort, the Ogboko, Ideato South country home of the Okorocha.
In attendance was 10 persons drawn from the Okorocha faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC); 10 persons from the Araraume faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and another 10 persons drawn from Uche Nwosu’s Action Alliance (AA) Party.
As gathered by Aba City Blog, the much talked about alliance is meant to enhance their capacity against the incumbent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in the state under Emeka Ihedioha.
Okorocha, who made the lead speech, while Araraume largely concurred, announced the formation of a coalition which he said is going to be the rallying platform in anticipation of the outcome of the Supreme Court judgment and subsequent political engagements for 2023.
He noted that his son in-law had always been APC at heart saying: “Uche Nwosu was merely wearing Chelsea jersey inside with Manchester United jersey on top.”
Okorocha claimed that Nwosu won the Imo governorship election but expressed hope that the Supreme Court would give his group justice.
At the same meeting, different committees were set up while Okorocha announced that about N20 million will be set aside for mobilization and meetings at community levels by the various committees.
