The Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano today, stormed Eke-Oka market in appreciation to traders for opening their shops despite sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
Recall that IPOB, in a statement on Friday through its Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, had stated that the Monday, August 9th 2021, will be a total lockdown tagged: “Ghost Monday.”
The statement said that “Ghost Monday,” which would affect all economic activities including schools and marketplaces, would continue every Monday until its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is released.
While the IPOB through the group Directorate of Service has cancelled the protest, stating that it will now be observed on the days of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu will appear in court. However, Igbo people of Southeast are still in fear of the unknown hence people has continued to sit-at-home every Mondays.
Storming the market, governor Obiano went with his security aides comprises of Army, Police and SSS. He urged the traders to always open their shops and ignore those asking them to sit-at-home.
