Among the road projects are Osisioma flyover and Aba Owerri road, which the governor started few years ago.

Taken to his twitter handle @GovOkezieIkpeazu said with the resources at hand, his administration will ensure work resumes on the said roads.

He said; “On our sustained determination to provide top class infrastructure to our people, I’m happy to say that we are doing everything to deploy the resources available to us towards all our road projects.

“The objective is to quickly complete the Osisoma flyover, complete Aba-Owerri Road, complete the ABSUTH road & also complete the extension of the Umuahia access through Ubakala to link Afor-Ibeji and the section Arab Contractors have completed on Aba Road.

“Beyond these, we are doing Ohanku Road from two angles – a contractor is billed to approach work from Ukwa East while another contractor is billed to approach from Aba.

“We are also going to do asphalt overlay on Osusu Road & complete Immaculate Road, Empire Road Ohuhu, Milverton/Cemetery, Eziukwu, internal roads of Federal Medical Center, Osisioma junction to Ekeakpara, Trinity College Road, internal roads In Umuahia & zero potholes in Aba.

“Beyond these, we will conclude Agbama Ring Road, Abiriba Ring Road & add another 3km after Okobo Bridge in Arochukwu to ensure Arochukwu people will commute more easily this Christmas season & beyond.

“We will also give attention to Port Harcourt Road which is an ambitious project. Work will resume at the new Government House, Umuahia in earnest & I hope to work from there even if only for one day before the expiration of our tenure in 2023.

Even though there are other projects also needing attention, I’d stick to the responsibility of biting only as much as we can chew for now & then in due course we’ll roll out the rest of the projects as resources become available.

“Let me use this opportunity to re-emphasize our earlier promise & pledge to make sure that we give attention to backlog of salaries owed by Agencies & Parastatals of Government while bearing in mind that our core civil servants who make up 70% of our workforce are up to date with their salaries & have even already received their November salary as at today.

“However, there is a proviso, & that is that the management of these parastatals & agencies must rise to the plate.

“In the midst of all these, I know that with all of us working together, we can stabilize Abia & keep moving her forward despite our circumstance.
