Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, the newly elected member of the House of Representatives representing Isiala Ngwa North & South Federal Constituency under Labour Party, LP, has narrated his ordeal at the hands of the Department Security Service, DSS, yesterday in Abuja.
Onwusibe, who was elected under Labour Party had gone to Abuja to receive the Certificate of Return issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, having announced as the winner in the just concluded February 25th Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The politician said he was intercepted by the DSS immediately he stepped out of the International Conference Centre, Abuja – where he went to collect his certificate of return.
Although, he said they later let him go after holding him for few hours. However, he did not disclose why he was arrested.
“I was intercepted by the DSS today at the International Conference Centre, Abuja after receiving my Certificate of Return & held for a few hours,” Onwusibe said in tweet.
“But I have been released as we are issue-based in our rescue mission.”
“Anybody who is threatened by Labour Party is an enemy of the people.
“The already crumbling powers gasping for breath in Abia State would clutch at anything, including air to remain in power.
“But the Labour Party as the rescue has come to stay & must fulfill its obligation of liberating the nation & showing solid examples I urge all LP faithfuls to emulate the traits of our Principal HE Peter Obi & remain law abiding as we reclaim our mandate, while also urging my Abia State people to turn up for Dr Alex Otti at the polls for Governor of Abia State on 11th March.
