The family of Abuja chef, Emeka Eloagu, who was found dead in his Katampe house in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja – has released an official statement announcing his passing.
Emeka, who was popular for his exceptional culinary skills, was found dead in controversial circumstances in his home in Abuja last Sunday, August 1.
In the statement released, his family asked friends, well wishers and the general public to allow the police to conclude their investigations so that everyone can have a clear picture of what happened to Eloagu.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our brother, son, husband, minister of God, and Abuja’s favorite chef, Emeka Vincent Elogu – popularly known as Chef Emeka as a result of an attack on him in his residence.
“The Head Chef and CEO of Helene’s Restaurant, an author and teacher in the culinary world, Emeka served his exclusive clientele across the country with his skills, and cooked for premium and luxury events from Lagos to New York.
“He alongside other notable chefs dedicated their craft to bringing global attention to Nigerian cuisine around the world.
“Aged 37, he is survived by his wife, Chidinma Vincent-Eloagu née Okebalama, sisters, brothers, and his aged mother.
“Emeka is described by all who know and love him as a gentle soul. In the words of his wife, “He never hurt nobody, Emeka is the best guy!”
“We implore friends, well wishers and the general public to please be patient until the ongoing police investigations are over and we can all have a clear knowledge of what happened.
“Our hearts are shattered, but we trust in the Lord. We ask that you keep us in your prayers and respect our privacy at this time.
