The Abia State Government has given looters of health equipment in the state 7 days to return their loot.
Abacityblog had reported that some hoodlums who hijacked the EndSARS protest went on rampage on 21st of October, destroying and looting government and individual owned properties in the city of Aba.
The hoodlums also set ablaze the building of Aba South LGA HQ.
In a statement signed by the state Commissioner for information, John Okiyi Kalu, warned the looters to return the looted properties.
“Abia State Government has noted with dismay the destruction and looting of Abia State Dental Center, Aba, and Primary Health Authority office in Aba South LGA, by hoodlums who hijacked the otherwise peaceful #EndSARS protests with vaccines, X-ray machines, sterilizers, air conditioners, fans and other equipment as well as disposables and consumables carted away.
“We wish to appeal to those who looted the items to return them within seven days to the relevant offices or call the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Matters, Mr Joe Chinwendu on 0803 764 9306 with information on the location of the items.
“Kindly note that most of the Primary Health Care and Dental equipment are trackable and will certainly be recovered in due course if not voluntarily returned.
“Members of the public are hereby warned not to buy or use any of the stolen items or procure such items from unauthorised persons to avoid getting into trouble with the law.
