The sit-at-home order issued by the leadership of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has taken full effect in Owerri, Imo State capital.
The order which was given by the IPOB was following the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari who was scheduled to visit the state by invitation of the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
President Buhari during his visit will be commissioning several projects executed by the Uzodinma’s administration.
Registering their displeasure, IPOB asked the people of Imo to protest Buhari’s visit by sitting at home.
The group in a statement accused the President and the state governor of killing innocent people in Orlu Council area of the state.
While the order has been countered by the apex socio-cultural Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo. IPOB insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari is not welcomed to visit any state in the Eastern Region.
