An Igbo socio cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide(OYC), has said it does not have confidence in the recently appointed electoral Committee set by the imeobi of the apex igbo group(Ohanaeze Ndigbo) to oversee and map out guidelines for the January 10, 2021 election of the group.
The Imeobi is the highest organization in the apex Igbo socio-cultural body, Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
However, OYC, disclosing its position known in a press statement signed by Secretary General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike and made available to newsmen on Tuesday, posited that the electoral committee should be suspended till the General Assembly of Ohanaeze ratified the electoral committee.
According to the Igbo group, without approval by the General Assembly of Ohanaeze based on constitution the Electoral committee members duties stands illegal and it could contested in court.
Ohanaeze further charged governors of South East zone and other stakeholders to save the region by ascertaining if Chairman and Secretary are card carrying members of any political party or proponents of anti-South East 2023 presidential agenda.
It regretted the rejection of President Muhammadu Buhari by Igariwey -led leadership in interfacing with Igbo leadership prior to 2015 general elections by the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization and subsequent Nwodo’s endorsement of Atiku showed that Pro PDP Ohanaeze cabal had squandered the Goodwill of igbo,which there’s alleged plans to stop the igbo Presidency with a President General that will opt for 2023 Southeast VP slot and Northern Presidency in PDP .
