Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide observed that tensions are building up in many quarters in the South East,as many Igbo leaders had hurriedly cancelled their trips abroad over the recent harassment and mob action against a respected Igbo Son and politician,Sen Ike Ekweremadu,at the New yam Festival at Nuremberg Germany recently.
Irrespective of the overwhelming outrageous public condemnation of the disrespectful assualt melted on the person of Sen Ike Ekweremadu, We gathered from intelligence report, that more mob action awaits some corrupt and deceitful South East leaders who had failed in governance since 1999 till present, As there’s a New wave of internal cleansing of rotten eggs and disciplinary measures on Igbo leaders to checkmate the adult rascality that had thrive in the South East for some time, there’s need for a truce,by ensuring that those in power at all levels should turn a new leave and do the needful.
OYC pleads with our angry Igbo Youths and agitators to shelve off any planned violent mob action against Igbo leaders here in Nigeria and abroad at the moment and wait to see how many leaders will turn a new leaf, as we feel the anger in the air,but Ekweremadu’s assault is a nightmarish lessons that awaits all unrepentant leaders but a wake-up call for the repentant Igbo leaders who had betrayed the confidence of our people in governance, Igbo leaders should be mindful of their utterances, actions and decisions on issues affecting Igbos.
