Various Civil Society Organization on Monday take over the street of Benin City, Edo State in protest against the hike in petrol price.
AbaCityBlog reports that price of PMS now sells at N617 which was increased by the petrol marketers following the removal of subsidy.
The hike which has affected almost everything, including transportation, food, and other essentials, has led the Civil Society Group to hit the street, asking the federal government to fix refineries.
“Say No To Continuous Hike In Fuel Price”, the protesters said. Stressing that FG should allowed the poor breath. “Fuel Price is choking us”, the placard reads.
Other placards read: “How did NNPCL become fuel price regulator”, “We say no to constant increment in PMS”, and lots of other inscription on the placards.

It should be recalled that President Tinubu during his inaugural address removed fuel subsidy, noting that henceforth, Nigeria government will no longer pay NNPCL for subsidy.
