The wife of Rt. Hon. Zakawanu Garuba, the late former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, has been abducted.
Mrs. Garuba was abducted on her way from Abuja where her husband who died of coronavirus complications earlier in the day.
It was gathered that The late ex-speaker’s wife was on her way to Etsako, the hometown of Garuba, where he was expected to be laid to rest in line with Islamic rites,.
A family friend of the Garubas, however, confirmed the development to Igbere TV. “It is true. Mrs. Garuba has been kidnapped,” the source said while pleading anonymity.
The Edo state police is yet to confirm the report as the efforts to communicate the Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor proved abortive.
