The National President of Ohaneze Youth Council, OYC, Comr. Igboayaka O. Igboayaka has applauded the Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma on his achievements within the last one year in office, urging him not to toll the path of Sen. Rochas Okorocha, the former Governor of the state.

Comr. Igboayaka stated this, Tuesday, 16th 2021 during an interactive session with Newsmen, in Owerri, Imo state’s capital, extolling Governor Uzodinma for his good beginning as the executive governor of Imo state.

He advised Sen. Uzodinma to reedem the image of Orlu people, stressing that he should not end up like his brother, Sen. Rochas Okorocha.

It would be recalled that former Governor Rochas Okorocha has in recent times been at a loggerhead with Imo State consequent upon alleged land acquisition and misappropriation of public’s fund.

To this effect, Igboayaka who congratulated the Governor, while reiterating that his administration from inception had been impactful and laudable, enjoined the latter not to derail from the track he has set for himself in order to ensure a positive landing.

He said: “Hope Uzodinma has disappointed many people who thought he was coming to turn the Douglas House into a jamboree, but Hope Uzodinma is quite administratively careful as the governor of Imo State.”

Continuing, he added: “For the past 8 years Imo was known as the most substandard State in Nigeria in terms of road construction, but it’s evidently clear that Hope Uzodinma has changed the narrative of the state. Right now, Imolites are enjoying solid road construction and a lot more other social amenities.”

Meanwhile, he used the medium to appeal to the Governor to as a matter of necessity, defend the Constitution of Nigeria especially Section 7, Sub. 1, which states that ” “the Local governments shall be governed by a democratically elected government.

Adding, he said: “The case of Care Taker Committee or Interim is an aberration of the Constitution of Nigeria”.

He, therefore, advised the Governor to quickly conduct a credible local government election that would be devoid of manipulation, whatsoever, noting that such would pave the way for the youths of the state to participate fully in the leadership formation at the grassroots.

“I advise the governor to quickly conduct a credible local government election devoid of one party winning all local government in order to enable the youths key into leadership formation at the rural level.”

Furthermore, he implored the Sen. Uzodinma to implement to the latter, the white paper form of the Commission of Enquiry on access recovery, while recounting that Eze Duruihuoma Commission of Enquiry recommended #92bn. should be recovered from Governor Rochas Okorocha, who served between the year 2011 and 2019.

Earlier in his speech, Igboayaka who described government as a continuity, commended Uzodinma for continuing with the already existing programmes of the immediate past administration of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, saying, “it is a proof of a responsible government”, he concluded.
