Democracy Day: Atiku Is A Hero Of Democracy, Will Not Have Igbo Support In 2023 – Ohanaeze Youths

June 11, 2020
in Aba News, People

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (OYC) had described the Former Vice President And 2019 PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar as a Courageous Elder Statesman that should be decorated on June 12 2020 by President Muhammadu Buhari as one the heroes of Democracy.

OYC noted that Atiku’s contributions towards the growth and development of Democracy in Nigeria, should earned him the recognition as Nigeria is set to celebrate June 12 Democracy day.

In a press statement signed by the group President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, OYC said “it’s on record that Atiku Abubakar had played significant roles with late Mko Abiola to restore democracy in Nigeria starting from June 12 1993”.

To this contributions, “Igbo Youths, as our our inlaw recommend him for National recognition as the African Hero of Democracy 2020, as the best way to appreciate his efforts and respect his beliefs as an African leader and encourage him to support and respect the Gentleman agreement on Rotational Presidency between North and South”, OYC said in the statement.

According to OYC, Atiku’s respect to the agreement on Rotational Presidency between North and South, will inevitably allow a Southern Nigeria President to emerge as President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor in 2023 through Peaceful Approach.

The full statement reads below…

“Anyone encouraging Atiku Abubakar to contest for President 2023 against the political tides is deceiving him as igbo support had eluded him in 2023, some political Jobbers are encouraging Atiku of igbo support in 2023,this is the weakest link to defraud Atiku Abubakar on a fake promissory note to make believe that Igbos will support him 2023”.

“OYC wishes to categorically clear, that Igbos reject Atiku Abubakar 2023 Presidential bid as those who deceived him through Restructuring of Nigeria in 2019 have been systematically displaced in Igboland and as they operated illegally without registration in CAC. Atiku Abubakar should know that igbo Governors were doubtful of his sincerity, and the North and West will opt for a fresh choice but definitely not him”.

“Igbo Youths had Commended vehemently the miscalculation of the Presidential spokesman on biafra, there’s need for President Muhammadu Buhari to meet with the new Ohanaeze Ndigbo with the back up of igbo Governors and Traditional Rulers not the one sponsored by Atiku Abubakar”.
