Apex socio-Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC, has reacted to the statement made by Maryam Uwais, Special Adviser to the President on Social Investment.
Madam Uwais, had on Channels TV said the ministry cannot publish the names of those who got this benefits from the Federal Government as palliative to cushion the effects of the lockdown caused by coronavirus.
According to her, publishing their names would make them look so much poor. “We don’t want them to be addressed as poor people”, Madam Uwais said on Channels TV.
Reacting to this statement, OYC insisted that the failure of the people in charge of the Covid19 Palliative Care of the Federal Government led by Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Safiya Farouk to render stewardship and provide evidence of the amount of money spent, shows that they had compromised their offices and ought to resign and be investigated for alleged Crimes committed against humanity and the State.

“Maryam Uwais indicted Buhari’s Ministers and all those involved in the covid19 Palliative Care in the full glare of the international Community watching her live at ChannelsTv, OYC said in a statement signed by its President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro.
The group, however, call on Nigerians irrespective of Religion and Tribe to Persuade President Muhammadu Buhari to Urge those accused of diverting the Palliative Money, to publish the identities and phone and BVN Numbers.
According OYC, “this is the only Functional solution to salvage the situation and integrity of President Muhammadu Buhari, who the international Community adjudged as the most incorruptible African leader.
“Mr President should not allow these aides to rubbish his stance on Anti Corruption Crusade before the international Community”, OYC said.
While demanding for forensic investigations into the disbursements of Coronavirus palliative care money to Nigerians.
