Baba Ijesha, Nollywood actor, has been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a minor.
AbaCityBlog reports that the case which lasted almost a year, saw the actor convicted for indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, and attempted sexual assault.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, in a two-hour judgment on Thursday, sentenced Baba Ijesha for abusing a 14-year-old girl.
Taiwo, however, discharged and acquitted him of counts one and count six, which were: sexual assault by penetration and attempted sexual assault by penetration.
At the end of the legal battle that lasted for months, the actor was thereby sentenced to 16 years imprisonment.
