Coalition Of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has revealed those behind the indictment of the Chairman/CEO of Air Peace Airline, Chief Allen Ifechukwu Athan Onyema.
It should be recalled that The US Attorney General’s office in Georgia had in a press release alleged that Onyema along with his airline’s Chief of Administration and Finance, Ejiroghene Eghagha, had been charged to court for falsifying documents and money laundering.
Both were accused of moving more than $20 million from Nigeria through US banks in a scheme “involving false documents based on the purchase of airplanes,” the US indictment said.
Reacting to the reports which circulated the internet and cause a lot of reactions, prominent Igbo group, Coalition Of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), has stated that those behind the alleged purported indictment of Onyema are those jealous of his rising profile in the Airline business.
In a statement signed by its President General, Chief Goodluck Ibem, the group call on Chief Onyema to disregard the antics of his detractors who are attacking him and continue with his legitimate business and patriotic service to the Nation.

We condemn in strongest terms the cheap propaganda circulating the media that the Chairman/CEO of Air Peace Airline , Chief Allen Ifechukwu Athan Onyema and his Airline Chief of Administration and Finance Ejiroghene Eghagha has been indicted by the United States Department of Justice for bank fraud and money laundering.
These is the handiwork of mischief makers with international contacts in the US who are jealous of Onyema’s success in Airline business and popularity among Nigerians at home and in diaspora and are scared that he might use his popularity , love and admiration of Nigerians towards him to come into politics come 2023.
These schemers and evil plotters are so desperate for 2023 politics that they can do anything to remove anyone or persons they see as a treat to their political or business ambition.
These false propaganda and allegations is just a ploy by enemies of his business and progress to tarnish the hard earned reputation of Chief Allen Onyema who single handedly, brought back stranded Nigerians free of charge from South Africa during the xenophobic attacks and Nigerians are very much grateful to him for such a huge sacrifice and patriotic service to his fatherland.
Onyema is a man of proven integrity, hardwork, honesty and above all, a man with an overflowing zeal to become a blessing to his people. He has never been involved in any act of dishonesty. He is upright and faithful.
For many years now, Onyema has been buying Airplanes and doing business in the US and he has never been indicted by any bank or business organization. Why did such allegations come up now he just rendered a patriotic service to the Nation that earned him admiration from Nigerians. The answer is simple. Some persons are scared he might contest for a political position in 2023 hence the need to pull him down before then.
Mr President thanked him for his selfless and patriotic service. The Federal House of Representatives invited him to one of their sessions and all the House members thanked him for a job well done and even recommended him for a National Award by President Muhammadu Buhari. Because of these achievements and many more , some persons are not happy and they are in to fight him . But they will fail .
We are not surprised because it is only a tree with riped fruits that attract stones and sticks.
We urge them to leave Barr. Onyema alone from their business and political permutations and schemes because , he is not interested in contesting for any political position. He is just a businessman who is just interested, to be of help to fellow Nigerians and humanity.
To victimize Air Peace Airline is to victimize the families and persons who are employed and making a living via Air Peace Airline.
We call on all actors of these propaganda to seize fire and support the business of a man that mean well for Nigeria and his fellow citizens.
We call on Chief Onyema to disregard the antics of his detractors who are attacking him and continue with his legitimate business and patriotic service to the Nation.
