A 38yrs old businessman identified as Chukwuma is on the run after he allegedly raped a 14yrs old girl.
Chukwuma, a cement dealer who hails from Imo State abandoned his shop worth millions of Naira and fled his home with his pregnant wife and kids in Ahoada town in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to a statement by Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, a human rights organization, the suspect took to his heels after getting information that the victims father has reported the matter to the police.
The Rights group also revealed that the girl’s father Mr. Ekpete to her daughter to the hospital where she was examined and found out she was raped.

“A thirty eight year old Major cement dealer,simply identified as Chukwuma said to hail from Imo State who does his business in Ahoada town in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State has fled the town over his alleged involvement in defilement of a fourteen year old girl.
“The father of the fourteen year old girl, Ekpete(other names withheld) told Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign that he reported the incident to Divisional Police headquarters in Ahoada town when he discovered that his friend, Mr Chukwuma whose cement shop is close to First Bank of Nigeria at Ahoada-Omoku road in Ahoada East LGA defiled his daugther.
“Mr Ekpete disclosed that his daugther was issued medical form by the Police and taken to Government General hospital in Ahoada town where medical examination was conducted on her, after which he(Ekpete) brought Policemen from the Ahoada Police Division in Ahoada town to effect the arrest of Mr Chukwuma on Wednesday morning, 14 June, 2021 but could not find him,as his(Chukwuma) house and his cement shop they went to, is under lock and key till date.
“Mr Ekpete told Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign that the pregnant wife of Mr Chukwuma and the daughter have not be seen since Wednesday any where in Ahoada which confirms insinuation that the said Chukwuma fled with his family.
“In the meantime, the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has called on the Police to deploy technical intelligence to arrest the fleeing alleged defilement suspect for proper investigation and possible prosecution.
The Centre in a statement on Saturday 19,June,2021 by comrade Gladys Oyenmwen ,Head of teen and children, condemned the alleged defilement of the fourteen year old girl by Mr Chukwuma describing it as wicked and barbaric.
