A British Nigerian, Master Joshua Beckford visits Nigeria
Kaduna deputy governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe has received Joshua Beckford to Nigeria. He’s in on Kaduna to work with BMAN to build a Community Secondary School in Tafan, Kaura LGA, Kaduna.
Joshua is the autistic spectrum – Asperger’s (high functioning) —in other words, he’s neuroatypical.
He’s got unusual skills in 8 different areas: Maths, Foreign Language, History, Philosophy, IT, Art and Science and Sports.
He was taught at home from the age of 10 months and learned to read fluently using phonics at 2 years 6 months old, mastered Japanese at 2 and a half years then started to learn Chinese Mandarin.
When he was 6 years old, he completed a master class in Philosophy and Historical Enquiry a research project on the Great Plague of 1665 at Oxford University. He was awarded a distinction in both subjects.
He also has a certificate for IXL an on-line maths programme for completing 29,000 maths problems.
He is also good in poetry.
