Hon. Sam Onuigbo, a federal lawmaker in the House of Representatives, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to All Progressive Congress, APC.
Onuigbo, who is representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency of Abia state, announced his defection on Thursday, December 17, during a plenary.

He made his defection known in a letter directed to the speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila.
Among reasons, Onuigbo Cited the internal crisis in his local government as the reason for dumping the opposition party for the ruling train.
Onoigbo’s defection to APC comes few weeks after two former commissioners of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu dumped the PDP in Abia.
The Senate Chief Whip, Senator Kalu had on 29th of November, 2020, welcomed Hon. Obinna Oriaku, former Abia commissioner of finance, and former commissioner of works and Transport, Hon. George Nnana Kalu to the APC.
