Buhari unveiled the new currency notes on Wednesday morning before the federal executive council (FEC) meeting at the state house, Abuja.
Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (BN), was in attendance during the unveiling ceremony.

It should be recalled that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, on Wednesday revealed reason behind the idea of redesigning the 200, 500, & 1000 Naira notes.
Emefiele, who disclosed this during a special press briefing in Abuja, said the redesign will begin circulation from December 15, 2022.
