Prominent Chieftain and grassroots mobiliser of the All Progressive’s Congress (APC) in Isuikwuato/ Umunneochi Federal constituency, Chief Amobi Ogah has on Saturday joined Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party.
Amobi’s consolidation with the PDP , comes less than 24hrs after he tendered his resignation letter from the APC which was signed by Chief Amobi Ogah himself was addressed to the Ward Chairman of Ikeagha Ward 8 in Uturu, Isuikwuato where he hails from.
Amobi’s new alliance with the ruling party in his home state, Abia now puts to rest months of speculation with regards to leaving the APC , which is the ruling party in his Senatorial District.
The Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency 2019 aspirant, Chief Amobi Godwin Ogah was well received , registered and issued his membership card by PDP ward chairman Mr. Romanus ogaranya at his ward 8 in Uturu, Isuikwuato.
Amobi a founding member of the APC in his Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency is expected to slug it out with the incumbent Nkeiru Onyejeocha who has been at the Federal House for 16 years during the 2023 federal constituency poll elections.
While Amobi will be making a second attempt at the House of Representatives, the incumbent Nkeiru Onyejeocha who hails from Umunneochi will be aiming to return to the green Chambers to extend her stay to 20 years.
According to Amobi in his resignation letter from the APC, this has become necessary following pressure from his supporters which he finds justifiable.
