Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki has mobilized heavy duty equipment and security officials to a property (Hotel) belonging to Tony Kabaka located at Ugbor-Amagba axis of Benin City, for demolition.
This comes few months after Kabaka lost his bid to extend the initial 14-day restraining order on Governor Godwin Obaseki planned demolition of his hotel.
Reports had it that Kabaķa’s hotel was marked for demolition by the administration of Governor Obaseki for illegal structure.
But Kabaka has said that Gov Obaseki is after him for not supporting his governorship agenda.
In an interview with PUNCH, Kabaka said…
“I know that the government is supreme but this was not the way it was before. There is no way a civilised person will erect a building worth about N400m on government property.
“I bought it (land) from the community and the government has its own land that is fenced. It is a political threat but I will not fall for it. He can’t force me to work for him. If I am not useful to him, he should let me be but if I am, he should reach out to me.
