Three armed robbery suspects today, met their Waterloo as they were burned to death by irate mob in Aba, commercial city of Abia State.
The three daredevils were said to be the ones terrorizing Afor-ule, Umuimo and Kamalu streets in Osisioma axis of Aba.
They were caught up by irate mob after their unsuccessful operation around the axis on Sunday. According to eyewitnesses, the men who operate with motorcycle were knocked down by a tricycle (Keke Napep) rider around Star Paper Mill.
In the cause of the action, two of the armed robbers were said to jump off the motorcycle and were lynched by the mob, while the bike man zoomed off and was caught up in Umuimo street by angry mob who gave him a hot chase.
The three armed robbers were separately set ablaze, one at the opposite UBA Bank, others at the Union Bank junction and Star Paper Mill by Kamalu street.
As at the time of this report, Police have taken over the scene as people gathered to take a look and thereby causing traffic gridlock in the ever busy Aba Owerri road.
There has been several reports of armed robbery around the aforementioned streets lately, the men who operate with motorcycle specializes in snatching of Tricycle (Keke Napep), robbing POS operators and snatching mobile phones from residents.
Their operation, has caused people to desert the street immediately it’s 7pm, especially traders who closed their shops to avoid being robbed.
