The acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has insisted that he strongly believed that corruption is the cause of coronavirus.
This is contrary to what the agency has tried to disclaim following his statement on the cause of the CoronaVirus nicknamed COVID-19.
The agency has denied their boss never made such statement, despite being recorded by the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA. The first statement by Magu, on the cause of coronavirus was made at the passing out parade of 281 cadets of the EFCC Detective Inspector Course-5, at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, on Tuesday.
The event was held on February 18th, 2020.
But, in what could be a twist of statement between the EFCC boss and the agency, Magu has insisted that the deadly virus was caused by corruption.
This time, Magu was recorded by AriseTV, during the officials meeting. He insisted that the cause of COVID-19 was corruption, according to him, it was created by a corrupt mind.
“I still insist that Coronavirus was caused by corruption”, Magu said. He however, added that only corrupt mind can create such a deadly disease.
