Report has it that the former governor of Abia state and Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu was on Wednesday involved in a ghastly road accident in Ebonyi.
The incident took place while the former governor was on one of his campaign outings for President Muhammadu Buhari.
ABN TV learnt that the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi has also visited him in the hospital.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of APC, Elder Ekekwe Egu (Otinkpu Jesus) who spoke with our correspondent revealed that the accident happened in Abakiliki, the Ebonyi state capital after which the minister was rushed to Abuja for a medical attention.
“When I called him, he didn’t pick his call, so I sent him a text message and he called me back. He said it was actually a ghastly accident but God save him. That he was taken to Abuja for something, but that it’s not too bad. He said he will be back to Abakiliki tomorrow (Thursday) to address the people of Ebonyi. That it was by God’s grace he came out alive.
“He didn’t want to go into details. Apparently he had some shock and injuries and other things. He said he will be discharged and he’ll come back tomorrow. He’s not in a bad shape” he said.
