Barely few hours to the governorship and state house of assembly election, the commissioner of Police in Abia state Mr. Etim Okon has been removed, ABN TV reports.
Okon who assumed duties in the state barely one month ago was Swapped to Ebonyi state, while his Ebonyi state counterpart has also been sent to replace him in Abia for election duties.
This is coming less than twenty four hours after Okon joined the DIG in charge of south East, Anthony Ogbizi to speak on the strategies and level of preparedness of the state command for the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
Meanwhile a new Commissioner of Police Mr. Awosola Awotinde has take over the state command.
He met with the heads of all the sister security agencies in the state on arrival
at the police headquarters in Umuahia to familiarize with them as the new CP.
He also called on the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr. Joseph Iloh to acquaint him with the development and possibly give him assurances of the police commitment to work.
Speaking with Journalist shortly after his arrival the CP stated that he has no problems getting the job done as a professional irrespective of location.
He also solicited the cooperation of sister agencies in the discharge of their duties in the Saturday’s elections.
