Biafra Land Defenders raise alarm as politicians get bloody to get 25% for party

BLD Leader, Ndubuisi Igwekani said that the provision in Section 134 (2) of the Nigerian constitution that for anybody in the presidential race to be declared a president he or she must receive at least 25 per cent of the votes in two-thirds of the states has brought about clandestine efforts by some politicians in South-East to scare people to prove they can deliver.

Igwekani said that all the ongoing insecurity including killings in Enugu State, clampdown on innocent citizens of Orlu Senatorial Zone of Imo State and the high level of insecurity in Ebonyi State and Anambra State are all in a bid to ensure that a particular unpopular candidate in the presidential race gets 25 per cent of the votes those states.

He revealed that recent events and undercover investigations by the BLD who have volunteered to ensure that there is a free and fair election in the South-East have shown that some governors, some members of the New Assembly and their cronies are responsible for the ongoing carnage in the South-East.

Igwekani said that the politicians whose major aim is to ensure that their paymaster gets 25 per cent votes in the Peter Obi-dominated South-East have decided to test their popularity with the blood of their own people by sponsoring assassins and well-trained killers who hide under Unknown Gunmen to perpetrate all manner of evil.

He called on all foreign observers especially the AU, the EU and the UN to beam their security torchlights down the South-East, especially in Enugu State, Imo State and Ebonyi State and ensure that those criminal politicians who have protection from the power above are dealt with even after the elections.

Igwekani however charged all residents of South East to remain steadfast, come out on Saturday and massively vote for their son, Mr Peter Obi who currently enjoys the support of many other Nigerians because he is the best among all the other candidates.
