Below are some beautiful places in Lagos, Nigeria, to visit in 2023 for fun, knowledge and entertainment:

  • Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, is ideally located in the middle of the country. One of the most well-planned cities in the world, it boasts stunning architectural gems like the National Stadium, National Mosque, and National Christian Center. For all types of travellers, this city offers something unique. The Usama Lower Dam is a favourite among hikers, and everyone who appreciates art, design, and culture must visit the Thought Pyramid Art Centre.
  • The Freedom Park: The colonial oppressive and controlling Old Broad Street Prison in Lagos has been changed into the tranquil FREEDOM PARK Lagos, a place for contemplation and social interaction. It represents a step toward a bigger goal: humankind’s triumph over all social and political oppression and the ultimate liberation of the human soul from all that seeks to enslave it.
  • Cross River National Park: Due to its size and beauty, Cross River National Park, situated in the southeast of Nigeria, is frequently referred to as “the African Amazon.” The Okwangwo region and the Oban region are the park’s two main divisions and are located fifty kilometres apart.
  • Numerous animal species, such as gorillas, chimpanzees, drill, birds, and rare butterflies, call the park home. You might also see buffaloes, baboons, and leopards if you’re fortunate. It would be a crime not to visit Cross River National Park when travelling in Nigeria because there is just so much to see there.
  • Nike Art Gallery: Visit Nigeria with artist and designer Nike Davies Okundaye, a country where talking drums, the internet, and ancient culture that endures in modern cities all live together. One of the most prominent painters in Nigeria, Nike Davies-Okundaye, is in charge of this enormous gallery, which exhibits both contemporary and traditional works of art. Nike is essentially the epitome of love and beauty. She’ll be there to give you a new Yoruba name if you’re lucky. Cultural outings to other Yoruba towns may be organised through the museum.
  • Obudu Mountain Resort: If you want an experience in a calm setting, here is the finest spot to be. It is situated close to Cameroon, one of Nigeria’s neighbours, in the Obudu Plateau in southern Nigeria. Take the cable car from the bottom of the hill to the summit to take in the more beautiful scenery. To a truly stunning backdrop, you’ll visit Angel’s View, the Grotto, the presidential Villa, and many other locations.
  • National Museum: It’s an excellent resource for discovering hitherto undiscovered facets of Nigerian history. The museum is proud of its extensive assortment of well-known pieces of Nigerian art, which also contains objects from archaeology and anthropology. You must visit this website if you have a particular affinity for wildflowers. The two-acre park includes ponds, waterfalls, fountains, and even a play area for kids.
  • Badagry: is highly reliant on fishing and agriculture for survival and has a small museum dedicated to slavery. This is Nigeria’s first-story building with a view of the Marina waterfront. From the early 1500s, Badagry served as one of many trade and transit centres in West Africa for slaves being carried to America; it is estimated that some 550,000 African slaves passed through this region.
  • Oke Idanre Hill: The collection of enormous hills known as Oke Idanre is a sight to see. The Idanre village is surrounded by hills visible from all directions. In addition to being stunning, the hills have an important place in the Idanre natives’ history and are intertwined with numerous Nigerian tales. The hills are an incredible wonder to behold, occasionally appearing to reach the sky.

Visitors must ascend a 3000-foot staircase to the peak (nearly 700 steps). This place is excellent for those who enjoy hiking, adventure, and pleasure. The King’s Palace is a significant sight and well worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood.
