Igbo Cultural Association of Edmonton, Canada yesterday held a Cultural Festival showcasing the rich culture of NdiIgbo.
The event organized by the Igbo Cultural Association of Edmonton, was held at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert, Canada.
The event attracted Igbo personalities in Canada, the likes of Kelechi ‘Kaycee’ Madu, a Canadian lawyer and politician who hails from Mbaise in Imo State, Nigeria.
It was a beautiful sight with Igbo dancers and masquerade performing on stage to showcase the Igbo cultural heritage.
The organizers also used the opportunity to recognize Notable and Influential people from Imo State, such as:
- Chukwudifu Oputa, GCON aka Oputa panel, he was a former Nigerian Jurist, and the Judge of the Supreme Court of Nigeria from 1984 – 1989.
- Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe, popularly know as ‘Dee Sam’ an Igbo politician and first democratic governor of Imo State.
And host of other notable people from Imo State, including Kaycee Madu and Igboland in general.
Thanking the organizers for a job well done, Kaycee Madu described the event as uplifting, haven been among those recognized in the list of the Notable People from Imo State.
“It is always uplifting when one is included in honorary recognition with great statesmen who did amazing things in their life by the people that know you best. It was a relaxed and enjoyable evening amongst brothers and sisters. Thanks to all who attended. It was a full and packed theatre. I look forward to next year’s Taste of Igboland.” – he tweeted.
