Bandits have kidnapped some students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata Mafara local government area of Zamfara State, Dailytrust reports.
The newspaper gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Friday.
A resident of Kawaye village identified as Sadi Kawaye told DailyTrust that his daughters, Mansura and Sakina were among those abducted.
“I’m on my to Jangebe now to see the situation myself. I was told they invaded the school around 1am,” he told our reporter over the phone.
When the newspaper contacted, SP Muhammad Shehu, Police Public Relations Officer in Zamfara, said he could not react.
“Give me some time, I can’t say anything now,” he said.
It should be recalled that nine days ago, bandits stormed a high school in Niger State and seized about 29 students and school administrators.
Peoples Gazette quoted a National security sources as said the federal government paid $2.099 million (N800 million) as ransom, a report which the federal government described as false, noting that they didn’t pay any ransom for the release of the students.
