A Christian girl, Deborah Samuel was stoned and burnt to death today 12th May, 2022 – at Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto State by Muslim mob for blasphemy.
A course mate who transcribed what Deborah Samuel, a level-two student, said in a voice note that led to her death, said Deborah had in reaction against posting of religious contents in their class group chat on WhatsApp, called Islamic Prophet Muhammed (SAW) a “nonsense prophet”.
This, according to other students who witnessed the attack enraged the Islamic students.
Below is the translation:
“Holy Ghost fire, nothing will happen to us. the group is not created for sending nonsense things. It is created to send past questions, if there is test, or if we are given assignments not all these nonsense things. Which kind prophet, nonsense prophet”.

Meanwhile, reports by the Police revealed that the Islamic students forcefully removed the victim from the security room where she was hidden by the school authorities, killed her and burnt the building.
The police however, vowed that the suspects in the viral video on Twitter were spotted and will be nailed soon, according to a statement signed by police spokesperson in Sokoto, Sanusi Abubakar.
