Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has reacted over the United States Government decision to add Nigeria on its travel ban list.
It could be recalled that Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, along with other countries in Africa and Asia, have been banned from traveling to USA by President Trump administration.
According World Street Journal (WSJ) reports, the countries where the new restrictions applies are travelers and immigrants from Belarus, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan and Tanzania.
The reports by WSJ, however, added that the listed countries may not face permanently ban on travel to the U.S., but could have restrictions placed on specific types of visas, such as business or visitor visas.
President Trump in his address said his administration restricted the listed countries in its to prevent potential acts of terrorism.
Reacting to US President decision, Atiku said the ban does not take into account the pro-American sentiments of the Nigerian public.
