Asa Development Union in collaboration With Ndoki Union has disassociated from a publication by Ukwa-Ngwa Consultative Forum led by Chief Uzoije Nwankpa against the Abia State governor, Dr. Alex Otti.
The groups in a joint statement signed by the President generals, Dr. Onwubiko N. Dike, Associate Professor, the
President-General, Asa Development Union, ADU, and Rev. Dr. Felix Akara, the President-General of Ndoki Union, described the publication titled: “Group Uncovers Plot By Alex Otti To Protect Old Bende And Humiliate The Ukwa- Ngwa Nation”, as misleading, shameful and mischievous.
The apex groups went further to stressed that the article is nothing but a blackmail against the governor hence the need for refutal and setting the record straight.
According to the group, Ukwa-La-Ngwa, Ukwa-na-Ngwa or Ukwa- Ngwa and now Ukwa-Ngwa Consultative Forum only exist in the media space, the perceived amalgamation which birthed Ukwa-Nkwa is nothing but a fallacy and a smokescreen perpetuated by a political class to deceive the people.
Pledging their unalloyed support for the able leadership of Dr. Alex Otti, ADU and NU, reiterated that they are not part of the cheap blackmail of sub-ethnic cleansing /profiling and would never be membership of such wanton associations.

“Our attention has been drawn to the aforementioned article by the so-called Ukwa-Ngwa Consultative Forum under the leadership of one Chief Uzoije Nwankpa.
“The article is not only misleading, shameful and mischievous but a cheap blackmail aimed at whipping up resentment toward Dr. Alex Otti’s administration and subjecting the good people of Ukwa to public ridicule.
“In reality, Ukwa-La-Ngwa, Ukwa-na-Ngwa or Ukwa- Ngwa and now Ukwa-Ngwa Consultative Forum only exist in the media space. If there are issues of common interests, Ukwa-Ngwa Nation is trumpeted afore and after which it reverts to ‘Oha-Ngwa’. Who is fooling the public? The Ukwa-Ngwa amalgam is a façade, fallacy, smokescreen and deceit, perpetuated by a political class whose stock-in-trade is the very reason for setting up the Judicial Panel of Inquiry.
“We challenge the forum to show the public one dividend of democracy in Ukwa Land for the past eight years of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration.
“While Ndi-Ukwa are still suffering the pains of multiple injuries/abject poverty arising from forceful land dispossessions, total blackout, inaccessible roads, neglected youths, dilapidated school buildings, tattered health centres, cattle market saga and unbridled insecurity, etc., inflicted on us by successive regimes in Abia State, we find this propaganda unwholesome and unacceptable.
“We therefore, disassociate ourselves from the cheap blackmail of sub-ethnic cleansing /profiling and membership of such wanton associations. The emergence of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, as the Executive Governor of Abia State, is God’s answer to twenty-four years of bottled prayers of Ukwa people in particular and Abians in general.
“We vehemently pledge our unalloyed support for the able leadership of Dr. Alex Otti and urge him not to be distracted from his determined efforts to anchor Abia State on higher pedestal for posterity.
