As part of activities marking the commencement of the newest military exercise in the south East geo political zone known as “Exercise Atilogwu 1” the Nigerian Army on Tuesday flagged off a free medical outreach in Akanu Ohafia, Abia state.
The Acting General Officer commanding 82 division, Enugu, Brigadier General L. A Adeboye flagged off the exercise hosted by the 14 brigade, Ohafia at Ekelogo square in Akanu Ohafia.
He said the aim of the programme was to give back to the society and create a better relationship with the people.
He also assured that the gesture will continue.
The military exercise which replaces python dance, is to take off on November 1 in the south East states.
The traditional ruler of Akanu Ohafia, H.R.H Ezieogo Mba Odo Okereke (JP), on behalf of the people observed that the medical outreach will cover eye, dental and general area.
He further noted that the medical outreach will make a huge impact in the lives of his people and thanked the Army for it.
The royal father enjoined the people of Akanu and Ania to be law abiding to avert any form of clash with the soldiers during Exercise “Atilogwu Udo 1”.
