…Sen. Kalu Donates towards building the Chapel of Adoration

UMUCHU – Over the weekend, billionaire business mogul, Chief Raphmoore Ekekwe (Holy Child), families, friends and well wishers from all walks of life converged for the one year memorial service of late Lolo Eziada Vivian Ekekwe at Ibughubu village, Umuchu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The historic colourful event began with a Pontifical Holy Mass at Chief Ekekwe’s compound by the Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, Most Reverend Prof. Augustine Echema with assistance from numerous priests.
During the sermon, the Bishop Most Rev’d. Prof. Augustine Echema prayed for the eternal peaceful repose of the deceased. Bishop Echema while condoling the bereaved urged them to take solace in the Lord and remain fervent in constant prayer.
The Prelate further charged the congregation to live life worthy of emulation, by seeking divine assistance in prayer and engage in good works for better Nigeria.
Addressing the guests, elated Chief Sir Raphmoore Ekekwe appreciated everyone for their support. Chief Ekekwe also poured special encomiums on the Distinguished Sen. Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, (Chief Whip of the current 9th Senate and former Governor of Abia State for donating the sum of Two million Five hundred thousand Naira (N2.5 Million Naira) towards the building of ‘Adoration Chapel’ at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Umuchu in perpetual remembrance of his late wife.
Chief Ekekwe also appreciated the presence of the Minister of Mines & Steel, Chief Uche Ogah, Hon. Benjamin Kalu (Member Representing Bende Federal Constituency) and His Excellency, Dr. Nkem Okeke (Deputy Governor of Anambra State) who represented the Governor.
Earlier on, the vibrant Chairman of APC Aguata Local Government Area, Comrade Paul Chuks Umenduka led party faithfuls to welcome in grand style, Sen. Orji Uzor Kanu and his entourage. Comr. Umenduka extolled the former Governor of Abia State for his good governance strides and pragmatic leadership qualities.
In his remark, elated Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu commended the APC loyalists for their hospitality and urged them to remain steadfast and ensure enthroning APC Governor in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Dignitaries in attendance were, High Chief Johnbosco Onunkwo (Akaekpuchionwa Umuchu, Comrade Paul Chuks Umenduka (APC Aguata Chairman), Eze Bennet (Obi of Ibughubu), HRH. Igwe G.O Ezechukwu (Igwe Okwuluora na Umuchu) and other first class traditional rulers.
Other guests include, Dr Frank Chucks (Former Chairman, Umunneochi Local Government, Abia State), Chief Sweet Azuzu, Chief Modestus Umenzekwe (Onwa Achina), Chief Ikechukwu Otti (Mighty Mighty of Umuchu), Mister Akachukwu Njinaka (APC Anambra State Deputy Youth Leader) and Mr Essiet who represented the Abia State National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA Commander.
The memorial climaxed with the laying of wreath, special performances by the Nigeria military band, Ohafia War dance and other musical interlude.
