Dr. Alex Otti, today inaugurated the 2023 team of Transition Council members ahead of his inauguration as the Governor of Abia state on May 29, 2023.
The event held at Panyu Hotel, Aba, was graced by the team of Transition Council members which he had earlier released their names through a statement signed by his media aides.
Some notable names who made the list, includes:
Ms. Arunma Oteh, former Director General of Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); former Treasurer and Vice President of the World Bank and currently a Director at FSD Africa, and resident scholar at Oxford University’s Said Business School, is also on the Council; Professor Ndubuisi Ekekwe, a Nigerian-born inventor who helped Apple design a semiconductor for the iPhone; Mr Uche Orji, the immediate past CEO of Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA); Victor Okoronkwo, GMD of Aiteo Oil and Gas; Chief Frank Nneji, Founder of ABC Transport Company; and Ide John Udeagbala, an Aba-based business mogul and industrialist. Also on the list is Prof Okey Oramah, President, Afreximbank, Cairo.

Unveiling the list through his Council’s Secretariat on Tuesday 11th April, 2023, Otti explained that the Transition Council will help to articulate a policy document that would forge a direction and developmental agenda for Abia, in line with his vision for the state.
Meanwhile, speaking at the inauguration of the Transition Council on Friday, in Aba, the Governor-elect said his choice of Aba as venue is borne out of the fact that Aba is the heartbeat of the State.
“It is my pleasure to inaugurate the 2023 Abia Transition Council, at Panyu Hotel, Aba”, Otti said.
“The choice of Aba is strategic because it is the heartbeat of Abia, notwithstanding that it has been abandoned for years.
“I wish to thank the very distinguished technocrats, professionals and other eminent Nigerians who have accepted to serve in this council.
“We have great resources coming out of Abia, and I feel now is the time to put them to good use.
