Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has shared receipts of taxes she has been paying to the Lagos State government and to recent one amid heavy personal income tax slammed on her household.
AbaCityBlog reports that the Lagos State government issued her a seven days ultimatum issued to pay the sum of N18,640,092.00 as personal income tax or risk jail.
In a letter sent to the actress by the Lagos State government, they accused her of owing N7,376,000.00 tax for the year 2022 and N11,264,092 in back taxes for the 2021 tax year.
Responding to the letter on Monday, Iyabo Ojo criticised the method used to determine what she described as an exorbitant tax bill she received.
Also, in an Instagram video monitored by AbaCityBlog, the actress shared numerous receipts the Lagos State government issued to her for the taxes she has paid and wonder how they arrived to what she termed exorbitant tax.
She went further to say someone from the Lagos State government called her last week and revealed to her that the heavy personal income tax is following her choice of candidate, during the February 25th Presidential Election.
The actress who supported Peter Obi of Labour Party against the All Progressive Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu said she has every right to her choice and cannot be compelled.
