A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Sir Marc Wabara has said that it is the turn of the Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, to produce a representative for the Ukwa East/Ukwa East Federal Constituency in the National Assembly in the 2023 general elections.
Speaking in an online meeting with critical stakeholders of the APC in the Ukwa Federal Constituency on Tuesday, Wabara stated categorically that in the spirit of rotation, equity and fairness, it is the turn of Ukwa West to produce the next Representative for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency, adding that since someone from Ukwa East has occupied the position for the past 15 years, any person from Ukwa East APC that obtains an Expression of Interest Form for the office should not expect support from party members.
Wabara, who spoke on the need for all party members in the Constituency to work together for the success of the APC, stressed the need for everyone to support the current Abia State Executive whose positions have been ratified by the National Leadership of the party.
He highlighted the importance of recording success at the polls, adding that it was only a united APC that could win elections and positively change the fortunes of Abians.
While stating the crucial need for Ukwa people to recognise its disadvantaged position in the scheme of things in Abia State, Wabara appealed to all members of the party to jettison personal interests and focus on the common good.
In his contribution, a governorship aspirant from the Federal Constituency, Dr. Kasarachi Enyinna said the party would become very strong after genuine harmonisations and reconciliations.
Also speaking, former Commissioner, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC and Abia State APC Treasurer, Chief Nwogu Nwogu, said all the hands of APC members needed to be on the deck to ensure victory for the party at all levels, adding that there was so much to lose by being divided.
The meeting also had the following participants; Dr. Chidi Nwankpa, Dr. Babantah Cyril Babantah, Dr. IK Ajuzieogu, Barr. Nnadozie Okpokiri, Chief Anselm Eletuo, Ugochukwu Nduwuisi, Arc. Ngozi Ezi and ThankGod Ntaku.
