The Speaker, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji led Principal Officers into the Hallowed Chambers.
Hon Solomon Akpulonu, Leader of the House and Member representing Obingwa East State Constituency led the opening prayer.
The Abia State House of Assembly commenced plenary after the adoption of Votes and Proceedings of Tuesday, 22nd March, 2021 (being its last sitting before Staff of Houses of Assembly under the umbrella of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, embarked on their nationwide strike action).
ANNOUNCEMENT
The Speaker, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji asked Hon Jerry Uzosike, the Chairman of House Committee on Public Accounts and Due Process to prepare to submit its report on a petition surrounding SME funds.
The Speaker said the Chairman should present the findings of the committee on another Legislative Day.
NOTICE OF MOTION
H.A.M. 15: Motion on the need to prohibit the multiple and indiscriminate use of government number plates in the State sponsored by Hon Kelechi Onuzuruike, Member representing Umuahia North State Constituency.
The Speaker asked Members to study the content of the motion so they can give informed contributions about the motion on another Legislative Day.

NOTICE OF PRESENTATION OF BILLS
H.A.B. 39: Abia State Fund Management Bill 2021.
A Bill for a Law to establish guidelines for the management of funds of the Abia State House of Assembly, sponsored by Hon Solomon Akpulonu, the Majority Leader and Member representing Obingwa East State Constituency.
H.A.B. 40: The Abia State Account Allocation Committee Bill, 2021.
A Bill for a Law to establish the Abia State Account Allocation Committee (ABSAAC ), sponsored by the Majority Leader.
In a motion moved by the Majority Leader and seconded by the Minority Leader, H.A.B. 39 and H.A.B 40 passed the First Reading.
H.A.B. 38: The Abia State Safety Management and Building Control Agency was deferred to be considered on another Legislative Day.
ADJOURNMENT
Hon Solomon Akpulonu, Majority Leader of the House, moved that plenary be adjourned to another Legislative Day.
The Minority Leader seconded the motion.
Plenary was therefore adjourned to Wednesday, 16th June, 2021.
