The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji yesterday attended the End of Year Get Together of Ochendo Mobile, one of the popular transport establishments in the State.
Speaking at the event, the Speaker congratulated the management and staff of the establishment for their resilience and for rendering quality service to the people through the years.
Rt Hon Orji commended Mr Uchenna Umekwe (Akaraka) the proprietor of the transport company for his handwork and dedication over the years which have yielded positive results and seen the company grow.
The Speaker said he was very proud of Mr Umekwe because his success story is one the youths should emulate and put into practice. He commended him for defying all odds and worked with a template that made him strive for success.
Speaking earlier, Mr Umekwe thanked the Speaker for his support over the years. He said his life was transformed after the Speaker gifted him a brand new Hummer bus years ago with which he started the Ochendo Mobile which has now grown into a household transport company in the state.
He said that after receiving the bus, he vowed that he was going to use it responsibly for transportation business and grow it into a bigger company which today has several other vehicles including trucks in its fleet, hence, he started by driving the new hummer bus himself in order to be fully accountable for its use.
