Abia Speaker Congratulates Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Onyejeocha, Okonkwo, others on National Recognition

The Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has congratulated Dr (Mrs) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala GCON, Director General
World Trade Organization on her national recognition as Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON, a national honour coveted on her by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday.

The Speaker described Mrs Okonjo-Iweala as a global who served Nigeria transparently thereby, distinguishing herself as a personality who no award coveted on her should come as a surprise.

“You have always been a global citizen and being bestowed a national recognition by your home country, to say the least, is long overdue.

“You have served Nigeria in various highly sensitive capacities and transparently distinguishing yourself therein shows you have proven your mettle and no award would come as a surprise.

“Your home State, Abia State is very proud of you as President Muhammadu Buhari has bestowed on you the coveted Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON.

“This is to salute you on this feat as this is a pointer to the fact that more honours await you.

Congratulations.

The speaker also, congratulated Dr (Mrs) Uzoma Ikechi Emenike, Ambassador of Nigeria United States of America for her national recognition of the Member of the Order of the Niger, MON.

In a congratulatory message, the speaker said: “Your academic prowess has never been in contention and presently serving as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the power house of the world, the United States of America points to the fact that you have distinguished yourself as a seasoned Diplomat.

“You have put Abia State on the world map and another feather has befitingly been placed on your head as President Muhammadu Buhari bestowed on you the national recognition of the Member of the Order of the Niger, MON.

“Indeed, a gold fish has no hiding place.

“This is to congratulate you on this prestigious honour and pray for more laurels upon you.

Hon. Orji stressed that following Isiguzo’s hard work at the national levels, the national recognition did not come as a surprise.

“Leading warriors of the Fourth Estate of the Realm at the national level shows an individual with impeccable strength of character and panache. Naturally, you are gifted.

“It did not come as a surprise following your being recognized as a national citizen, viz a viz your award as a Member of the Federal Republic, MFR. Can you hide?

“The reward for hard work is more work as I salute you on this well deserved national recognition. There is more out there. Go get them.

“Congratulations, Ugosinachi Ohuhu. More powers.

The Speaker also extended his congratulatory message to the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Rep. (Barr) Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, for her national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said Hon. Onyejeocha’s contributions to national development has brought her to the fore front at the National Assembly, adding that her award does not come as a surprise.

“It is no mean feat to be chosen by one’s people to speak for them as concerns national politics and in this regards, you have been exceptionally outstanding.

“Through you, the voice of your people resonates in the National Assembly maturedly and intellectually. You are loved and admired.

“Your contributions to national development has brought you to the fore front as you have been recognized via the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I congratulate you on this auspicious national recognition and to say you are an asset any day.

In a congratulatory message, the speaker described Prof Obiora as an International entrepreneur and a philanthropist whose contributions towards growth of the nation has not gone unnoticed following his national award of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic.

He said: “You have distinguished yourself as an international enterpreneur, academic of note and a philanthropist of repute.

“Your contributions towards the growth of the nation’s economy has not gone unnoticed as President Muhammadu Buhari has deemed it proper you be conferred with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic.

“You have class and panache with it’s corresponding charisma. Why would you not be so honoured?

“Congratulations on this feat. More heights. More powers.

Also, congratulating His Royal Majesty, Eze Uzo Nwosu MFR, Ojim 1 of Ojim Ukwu Nnuegbe, Umukabia Alike Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA, Abia State for his national honour of Member of the Federal Republic, MFR, as bestowed on him by President Muhammadu Buhari, the speaker described the king as a personality with panache, charisma and sterling qualities.
