Excited residents of Akpukpa community and ward 9 Uturu have gathered their numbers to embrace the arrival of Senator Kalu to their communities. At their respective venues Kalu and his entourage were given a rousing ovation.
President Generals Hon. Chinonso Eze and Charles Oforegbu of Akpukpa and Ndudu communities respectively and the President General of Nvurunvu Autonomous community were fully on ground to host Kalu and his team.
To the delight of throngs of community dwellers, the Senate Chief Whip announced the date for the commencement of the construction of the Akpukpa- Uturu Road, according to Kalu the construction will begin in six weeks. Chanting songs of solidarity, the stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to back Kalu’s 2023 senate bid.
Kalu however sought the understanding of the community over the pace of work stating that due to inflation rate in the country, construction would commence gradually.
