Abia State Government has warned the Labour Party in State against its planned disruption of academic activities at Ngwa High School, Aba through its proposed political rally holding this Thursday, 10th November, 2022 by 8.00am.
In a letter signed by the State Commisioner for Post Basic Education Barr. I.C Mark and addressed to the State Chairman of the Labour Party and copied the Abia State Director, DSS and Abia State Commissioner of Police, government strongly advised that the party seeks alternative venues to avoid disruption of academic activities in the school.
According to the Commissioner, “We therefore wish to strongly advise that you immediately consider changing the venue of your planned event or seek another date when school children will not be in school.”
Barr. Mark noted seriously that the Labour Party should be aware that all public and private schools in the State, including the Ngwa High School, Aba, are currently in session with teaching and learning going on. He added that it would be wrong to “set this bad precedence of chasing away our hard working school children and their teachers in order to hold political rallies that will not only disrupt academic activities but also predispose school properties to vandalization.”
