The Abia State chapter of All Progressive Congress, APC, has raised an alarm over a plot to assassinate Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Representing Abia North.
The party stated this following a Facebook post made by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Onyebuchi Ememanka.
Ememanka had shared a link from Vanguard and wrote that it will be a “shoot at sight”, while quoting the link which has a picture of the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Kalu.
Reacting, APC said Ememanka and his party, PDP are frustrated following the wide acceptance and massive support for its candidat, Mascot Uzor Kalu – ahead of Saturday’s bye-election for Aba North/ South federal constituency.
Abacityblog.com reported that Kalu, who has last weekend embarked on ward to ward campaign in Aba has based his campaign on infrastructural provision for Aba citizens while berating the state government for owing teachers and workers salaries totaling about N29 Billion.
He also accused the state government of claiming Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and federal government sponsored projects as state projects.
He argued that a government that can’t pay salaries amounting to N29 billion excluding pensions cannot deceive the people to be solely sponsoring a N27 billion road project in Ngwa.
Continuing his ward to ward campaign in Aba, Kalu has queried the PDP’s morale justification in seeking for a seat in the Green Chambers.
According to him, the PDP’s candidate will be worse if mistakenly elected since he doesn’t even know his right from his left.
“He will be worse than Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe who has spent 16 years in the senate with no single project for Abia South.
“If Abaribe points out one project he did for Abia South or even his village in Umuekwensu, I will seek the consent of Abia North people and dash him three new roads next year.
Continuing, the Senate Chief Whip said, “Abaribe is busy speaking grammar as if English is what the people need. You need infrastructure, you need good roads, you need schools and hospitals.
“Go to Abia North, just a year in the Senate, I have given them 19 roads, renovated schools, built hospitals with a lot of empowerment.
“Abaribe is so shameless that he doesn’t even have a road leading to his village in Umuekwensu.” Kalu told a mammoth crowd in Aba
