The Governorship Candidate of Accord Party in Abia state, Ngwa born clergy and philanthropist, Amb. Bishop Emeka Nwankpa has been honoured and endorsed for 2023 Governorship race by the Igbo community in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Amb. Nwankpa was honoured by the Igbo traditional council in Abuja with the title of “Omere Oha 1 of Igbo Land” in recognition of his numerous investment in human resources development and empowerment across South East states.
Speaking during the event in Abuja, HRM Eze (Dr) Sir Nwosu Ibe, KSJ, JP, The Igbo 1 of Abuja and Hon. Olisakwe, Eze Igbo, Garki, Abuja popularly called ONOWU said, the honour bestowed on Amb. Bishop Emeka Nwankpa is in recognition of his passionate and benevolent heart in helping the needy in the society.
They urged Abians to support the Governorship ambition of Amb. Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, assuring that such a man with his pedigree and track records of uplifting the people and society will be the best thing that can happen to Abia state in 2023 if he is elected the next Governor.
HRM Eze Nwosu admonished Abians not to vote party but individuals and said, he is convinced Amb. Nwankpa has all it takes to change the Abia story.
Reacting, Amb. Bishop Emeka Nwankpa thanked the Igbo Community for the honour and recognition, while thanking them for the endorsement.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja said, he joined the Abia Governorship race to rescue Abia from total collapse, adding that the state lacks basic amenities and has become a laughing stock amongst the comity of states in Nigeria.
He said “We have tried a business man, we have tried a man with experience, we have also tried an educated man, yet Abia is not working. It is therefore time to try someone with not just the above credentials like me, but a man of integrity and a Child of God with conscience” And no other person is qualified with these rare qualities than me, he added.
Bishop Nwankpa said he will be the Governor that will use Abia money to work for Ndi Abia across the 17 LGAs of the state and appealed to Abians to support and vote for him so he can change their story.
