The members of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Abia State chapter, who recently declared support for the incumbent governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has urged its governorship candidate, Blessing Nwagba to step down.
The members stated this yesterday as they stormed government house in Umuahia Abia State capital, in their formal declaration support for Ikpeazu’s reelection bid.
The group led by their 17 LGA chairmen and some of the state exco members, drummed support for Ikpeazu, noting that they will massively support him come Saturday, March 9th (a day for the governorship election in Nigeria as scheduled by the INEC).
The SDP members said their decision to support Ikpeazu was because he has performed well, though, he might never touched all the four cardinal points in life but the security in Abia State today is one of the reasons for their decision.
“We have security in Abia State today is because Ikpeazu is in power, that alone is the reason why we will support him for second term in office”, says one of the SDP members.
“With this decision, we want Blessing Nwagba to step down for Ikpeazu for peace to reign in Abia, he concluded.
