Speaking after his victory, Ikwechegh said the election was a free, fair and transparent, adding that he was successful in the primary polls due to both the favor of God and the will of the people.

“The support that I have received from my constituents, the people, the ward chairmen, the leaders, and the chieftains of the party have been overwhelming.”

Popularly referred as the “Nkuma Dike Ndigbo”, Mr Ikwechegh added that he had a message, a vision, and a mandate to make things better in the constituency, and called on all party members, including his opponent the Primaries to close ranks and work for the victory of the party, at all levels, in the general polls.
