The National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka says the clamour for Nigerian President of Southeast extraction 2023 is consequent on the extant economic clamp down in the country.

Addressing newsmen during Greater Nigeria Conference, (GNC) with the caption: ‘Abuja 2023- Together We Can’, ICC Executive Hall, International Conference Center, Igboayaka maintained that “with the experience of what happened in 1970, after the Nigerian-Biafra Civil War, Southerners were given twenty Pounds(£20) to start life, today they have economically rebuilt Nigeria both in Trade and in Commerce.

“Today, Technologically, Umuahia, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Abakiliki, Onitsha, Nnewi, Owerri, have been developed with personal efforts of Igbo business men and entrepreneurs.

Speaking further, he said: “Southeasterners have also developed Abuja, Ibadan, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Abeokuta, Makurdi, Jos, Damaturu, Medugri, Calabar, Uyo, Asaba, Yenagoa. It’s evident that Southeastners have touched all parts of Nigeria and every Country in the world in general especially in the area of Commerce and Industry. So, we need somebody from Southeast in 2023 to replicate that economic magic they did in 1970 with twenty pounds (£20) in order to rebuild the dying economy of Nigeria.

“So, all the ethnic nationalities and all the zones in Nigeria need to come together and agree that Nigeria must be rebuilt. And that is why Southeast Presidential Project should be a project of all progressive Nigerians to get involved in order to choose somebody that would rebuild the economy of the country.

Igboayaka insisted that the emergence of a Southeasterner as the next president of the country in the 2023 general election remained the only vaccine that could effectively cure the protracted disease that has infiltrated the once glowing economy of Nigeria.

“I have always emphasized that Nigeria is suffering from a chronic political pandemic and the only workable vaccine is the Nigeria president of Southeast extraction.

“Even the Northern region of the country has been economically wounded; there’s abject poverty which has manifested in all the streets in Nigeria with the North having the highest street beggars. Therefore, the Northerners need Nigeria president of Southeast extraction more than the East, someone with economic Skill, business inventive ingenuity. Nigeria needs the same Southeastern people that used twenty pounds (£20) to transform the Eastern region from nothing to something, to do same to transform the nation.

“The economy of Nigeria is dying, there’s unemployment everywhere, and that is why we are having a high level of youth restiveness in the entire parts of the country with no exception. This is because the youths are out of work and so we need calm Administrator, an Economist, a Technocrat with an outstanding business ideas to revive the economy of the country.

“So, the clamour for a Nigerian President of a Southeastner in 2023 is not just a regional matter but a solution, and an idea to rescue Nigeria from her long-aged political and economic quagmire.” Igboayaka concluded.
